ABOUT THIS PLAY

This landmark musical tells the story of Marvin, who’s left his wife and 12-year old son to live with his lover, Whizzer, next door to a couple of “spiky lesbians.” It’s a love story and a family story, beginning at the tail end of the sexual revolution and arriving at the dawn of “something so bad words have lost their meaning.”

Through his achingly articulate, Tony Award-winning songs, one enigmatic man shares his personal vision of three exhilarating and heartbreaking years in the gay life of America.
